Custom Homes Built for McCall, Cascade & the Idaho Mountains
From lot selection to keys in hand, PURE DBR designs and builds one-of-a-kind homes across McCall, Cascade, and the Treasure Valley.
A Design-Build Team That Knows Mountain Building
Building in McCall or Cascade is a completely different project from building in a Boise subdivision, and most contractors figure that out mid-build. We already know it going in.
Mountain lots come with real considerations that do not show up on a Zillow listing. Slope, soil, seasonal access, utility connections, what Valley County will and will not approve, how the build window works when winter shows up whether you are ready or not. We have been through all of it on more than a dozen custom homes in this corridor and that experience shows up in how we plan, not just how we build.
We are not a general contractor executing someone else's blueprints. Jon and DeAnna are involved from the first site visit through the final walkthrough, guiding the whole thing from vision to completion. One team, one point of contact, no handoffs to people you have never met. If you are thinking about building in the mountains, that is the kind of team you want.
From Lot to Lake House: How We Build
Lot Selection & Feasibility — Evaluating buildability, access, and terrain before you buy
A lot that looks perfect on a map can have real problems you would never catch without actually walking it. Slope, soil conditions, septic suitability, how utilities get to the property, whether the access road holds up year-round. We sort all of that out before you buy, not after.
Entitlements & Permitting — Navigating McCall/Cascade and Valley County requirements
McCall has its own process. Valley County has its own process. If the property is near Payette Lake, shoreline and setback requirements add another layer. We handle all of it. You should not have to figure out a permitting process from a Boise address while also trying to design your dream home.
Architecture & Design — Translating your vision into buildable plans
DeAnna brings the design eye. Jon brings twenty years of knowing what actually works on a mountain lot. They work together from day one so what gets drawn is something that can genuinely be built on your specific property, not just something that looks good in a rendering.
Pre-Construction Planning — Budgets, timelines, material selections locked in before ground breaks
Material deliveries to a mountain site take longer than most people expect. The build window in McCall and Cascade is shorter than it is in Boise. We plan around all of that upfront so none of it becomes a surprise midway through your project.
Construction — One team, one point of contact, start to finish
Alex manages the project. Will runs the site day to day. Jon stays involved throughout. You have one number to call and one team accountable for everything.
Warranty & Support — What happens after move-in
The final walkthrough is not the end of the relationship. We stand behind the work and we are reachable when questions come up after move-in, because they always do.

Why Homeowners Are Building in McCall & Cascade
McCall and Cascade have been drawing people up from the Treasure Valley for decades, but something shifted in the last few years. What used to be a place people came for weekends is becoming a place people are choosing to actually live. Full-time residents, remote workers who realized they could trade a Boise commute for a view of Payette Lake, families who have been coming up here for years and finally decided to build something of their own instead of renting.
The land still has room. Lots near the lake, mountain properties with views that Boise homeowners would not believe exist two hours north, acreage that gives you the kind of space that has essentially disappeared from the Treasure Valley. If you have been thinking about building up here, the window to do it on your own terms is not getting wider.
We have built custom homes throughout the McCall and Cascade corridor, from properties right on Payette Lake to mountain lots further out from town where the only neighbors are trees. If you have a lot already or you are still trying to find the right piece of land, either way the conversation starts the same place. Call

What Our Custom Home Clients Say
Custom Home Building FAQs for McCall & Cascade
How long does it take to build a custom home in McCall or Cascade?
Longer than a comparable build in Boise, honestly. The construction window in the mountains is shorter, material deliveries take more lead time, and permitting through McCall or Valley County has its own timeline. Most custom home builds in this corridor run twelve to eighteen months from design through move-in depending on size and complexity. We give you a realistic schedule upfront, not one that sounds good and then slips.
Do you handle permitting with Valley County?
Yes. Valley County permitting, City of McCall permitting, shoreline and setback requirements near Payette Lake, all of it. We have been through this process multiple times and handle every piece of it so you are not trying to navigate a government process from a Boise address while also making design decisions.
Can you build on a lot I already own?
Yes. A lot of our clients come to us with land they already own or have under contract. We start with a site evaluation to understand what the lot actually allows, slope, access, septic, utilities, setbacks, and go from there. If you have not bought yet, we can help evaluate a lot before you commit.
Do you build year-round in the mountains?
We plan builds around the mountain construction window rather than fighting against it. Winter in McCall and Cascade creates real constraints on certain phases of construction, and the honest answer is that sequencing a build correctly around those constraints matters more than trying to push through them. We factor all of that into the schedule from the start.
What's the difference between your custom home process and a remodel?
A remodel starts with an existing structure. A custom home starts with a piece of land and every decision flows from there, lot selection, design, permitting, engineering, material sequencing, all of it before a foundation gets poured. The two projects share the same design-build philosophy but the custom home process is more involved from the very beginning and requires someone who knows mountain building specifically, not just residential construction generally.
